Middle East

I am a conservative and am pro-Israel, so I am going to touch briefly on what's going on right now in the Gaza strip. It is a shame about what is going on right now between Israel and Hamas. Yes, it is bad that innocent civilians are being killed as well as the terrorists, but what else can Israel do. How can any sane person expect any country not to defend itself when it is being attacked, especially- ESPECIALLY- from a land that was given to them by force. Atrocious.

Remember when all those Jewish settlers were forcibly removed from those settlements in the Gaza strip and by their own soldiers? Some of those soldiers were weeping about it. It was an unsavory time. It had been a desolate place, and those settlers had restored the land to be a fruitful place. A beautiful place. So when they were forced to move out, Hamas and whoever else turned it back into a wasteland as they usually do. It was simply common sense that all they wanted it for was to be able to launch their rockets from a closer distance.

A lot of this conflict can be placed squarely on the shoulders of our misguided State Department with their moronic policies. When are we going to learn that any type of society that is controlled by terrorists and radicals cannot be reasoned with. And please spare me the tripe that the "moderates" are in control or are calling the shots and they are the ones we can deal with. If you believe that, you are smoking something illegal. It is unfortunate that President Bush has signed off on a lot of these policies if not all of them. That does disappoint me the most.

Look, the US or any country cannot continue pressuring Israel into doing things that they cannot do or are not supposed to do. We cannot continue pressuring them into giving up land for "peace". It has never worked and never will. Eventually, we will all pay the price for that.
